Our Independent Compliance Committee
The Independent Compliance Committee of La Trobe Financial, which comprises a majority of Members who are independent of, and external to, La Trobe Financial, has a diverse set of skills and experience relevant to La Trobe Financial’s businesses and has responsibility for ensuring that La Trobe Financial complies with its licensing and regulatory obligations.

Mr John Marriott

John Marriott is a most experienced Senior Corporate and Commercial Banker having over 40 years' experience with 3 of Australia’s major Banks, NAB, Westpac and the ANZ.

He was seconded to NAB's Merchant Bank First National for 2.5 years and worked specifically on M&A transactions.

Whilst at NAB John experienced senior roles in Corporate and Institutional Banking, Credit, Project & Structured Finance and was Head of the largest commercial business district in Australia. He was also the Head of NAB's Major Client Group in Victoria.

At Westpac John was appointed Head of Business Acquisition in Victoria and replicated the acquisition model in establishing businesses for the Bank in both NSW and QLD as major successes for the Bank. Following this he was appointed as State General Manager, Victoria for Premium Commercial Business which also included responsibility for the Bank's Property Divisions in Victoria and West Australia and the Business Acquisition team in Victoria.

John is a past Director of Corporate Acquisitions in Corporate Banking in Victoria for the ANZ Banking Group.

John resides in Melbourne.

Greg O’Neill is a qualified economist whose previous experience involved positions as Account Manager with the American Computer company NCR Australia Limited, Trainee Company Secretary at Security Permanent Building Society in Victoria and Advance Bank (Australia) Ltd.

Greg is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Life Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance, and a past member of the International Committee of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America.

Since joining La Trobe Financial, he has participated directly in reporting to the Group’s Board of Directors and continues the most active Fund Raising activities of La Trobe Financial.

Greg is a past Chairman of the National Basketball League (NBL) Melbourne Tigers Basketball Club (2006-2009), during which the Club appeared in four finals, winning two National Championships. He is currently an Ambassador for Basketball Australia's elite program, and has attended the past two Olympic Games with the men's national team the Boomers in Beijing and London.

Mr Gerard Parlevliet

Gerard Parlevliet has over 25 years’ experience in the superannuation industry, including 12 years as General Manager (Chief Executive Officer) of the Commonwealth Bank Officers’ Superannuation Fund (Commonwealth Bank Group Super) and then 7 years as Chief Investment Officer of the Fund.

In his role with Commonwealth Bank Group Super, Mr Parlevliet completed a number of superannuation fund mergers and oversaw excellent investment returns to members. In recognition of his achievements, Mr Parlevliet was awarded the Chief Investment Officer of the Year award at the 2013 National Achievement Awards.

Mr Parlevliet has a wealth of corporate governance experience including as a director of Prime Super Pty Ltd, and as company secretary for Commonwealth Bank Officers Superannuation Corporation Pty Limited, SBV Staff Superannuation Pty Limited and CBA Staff Superannuation Pty Ltd.

In addition to his directorships, Mr Parlevliet is an Asset & Liability committee member of CBHS Friendly Society, a Member of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia’s NSW Executive Committee, and a Member of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia’s Economics and Investment Committee.

Gerard resides in Sydney.

Cory Bannister has been with La Trobe Financial since January 2000, specialising in the origination and assessment of credit, management of mortgage portfolios and delinquent loans.

During the past 5 years, Cory has held separately both Head of Credit and Head of Distribution roles for La Trobe Financial, giving him a rich understanding of both the loan origination process via the third-party channel, along with responsibility for the approval and settlement of institutional and retail loans. Since 2007, Cory has the highest level of delegated lending authority in the La Trobe Financial Group.

Cory's portfolio management experience extends to the selection and allocation of assets for multiple wholesale mortgage portfolios in excess of $1 billion. He has been responsible for the management, review, risk profiling and audit of wholesale asset pools. He has had conduct of the relationships with substantial wholesale and retail investors and been responsible for overseeing reporting in relation to these.

Cory has now been appointed Vice President, Chief Lending Officer, is Chairman of the Origination & Credit Committee (OCC) and member of the Markets Funding & Rates Committee (MFR).

Ryan is a Chartered Accountant who was employed as La Trobe Financial's Group Financial Controller in 2007 following 4 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as the Senior Accountant and external auditor on a number of major corporations including NAB, Vanguard, Zurich, AXA, AIG and La Trobe Financial. In 2010, Ryan was promoted to Head of Business Innovation and Transformation leading multiple large projects to improve operational efficiencies across the Group.

In 2011 Ryan moved to London and gained international banking experience working with Lloyds Banking Group and the Bank of New York Mellon.

In 2013, Ryan re-joined La Trobe Financial as Vice President and Head of Debt Capital Markets. During his time back at La Trobe Financial, Ryan has also held Executive Management responsibilities within both the Real Estate Credit and Funds Management Divisions. Ryan is also a member of the Markets, Funding & Rates Committee (MFR) and the Origination & Credit Committee (OCC).

David Bleakley joined La Trobe Financial in early 2018 after serving as ANZ’s Chief Risk Officer of North American operations for the past 3 years.

David commenced his career with Standard & Poor’s (S&P) in New York and worked across the Municipal Bond, Financial Institutions, and Structured Finance Rating Departments. During his 11 years with S&P he spent a little over a year in their Melbourne office developing a structured finance platform for their Asian operations.

In 2005, David joined National Australia Bank as Head of Asset Backed Securities & Structured Credit Originations in Melbourne where he built the foundations of what was to become the largest RMBS/ABS house in the Australasian market. At the outset of the Global Financial Crisis David moved to ANZ as Head of Structured Credit Risk Management. In this role he took on responsibility for managing the wind-down of a US$16.5 billion portfolio of structured credit assets. From there he moved with ANZ to Sydney to run the Non-Bank Financial Institutions Risk team before returning to New York in 2015 to become the Group’s Chief Risk Officer for their North American operations.

David is the Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) and also a member of the Origination & Credit Committee (OCC).

Steve Lawrence has been employed in the banking industry since 1978 and has held senior operational and lending roles in substantial organisations in London, Sydney and Melbourne, including Reliance Bank Ltd (UK), Prudential Assurance Co. Ltd (UK), Australian Bank Ltd (Sydney), Advance Bank Australia Ltd (Melbourne), Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) (Melbourne) and Westwater Property Group Pty Ltd (Melbourne).

Steve has approximately 25 years of specific lending experience focused both on residential and commercial lending. He has established and managed start-up mortgage origination programs, overseen credit departments, been responsible for adherence to credit policies, underwritten and managed A$300 million credit facilities and underwritten substantial commercial loans of up to A$45 million in size. He also has significant experience in the management of delinquent loans and management of mortgage book portfolios.

Since joining La Trobe Financial, he has been our senior commercial lending analyst with responsibility for primary underwriting and management of the group's most complex and substantial investments. Since February 2011, Steve has also had complete operational oversight (subject to the Origination & Credit Committee) of the Fund's lending activities.

Throughout his career, Steve has been responsible for the operations of numerous departments and teams, including over seventeen years directly managing substantial underwriting teams. His substantial experience and expertise in the industry is of significant advantage to the Credit Fund.

Steve is Deputy Chairman of the Origination & Credit Committee (OCC) and a member of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARc).

Jason joined La Trobe Financial in December 1992. He holds a Bachelor in Business from Monash University (with majors in Accounting and Economics & a sub-major in Business Law).

Since joining La Trobe Financial, Jason has held a number of senior positions across the La Trobe Financial group, originally with a specific focus on both residential and commercial asset origination leading to roles in Asset Management of delinquent loans and the management of both Settlement and Discharge operations. Additional positions have included senior accounting roles for both institutional and retail aspects of the business including the selection and management of group and Fund assets. This experience uniquely positioned him to become the group’s first Portfolio Manager, a role to which he was appointed to in 2003.

Jason is responsible for the full range of the portfolio construction and management issues for the Credit Fund, including asset selection, funding allocation and liquidity & risk management.

Jason has extensive experience in the review, management, audit and profiling of asset pools for the La Trobe Financial group.

Richard Anstey – LLB, BBus

Richard joined La Trobe Financial in August 2007. Richard has Bachelor Degrees in Law and Business (Banking and Finance) and has management experience in the building industry.

He spent the initial part of his career at La Trobe Financial with a risk management focus, first as an Internal Auditor before being promoted to Compliance and Audit Manager in early 2009. His responsibilities during this time were centred on identifying and managing asset selection, financial, regulatory and operational risks across the La Trobe Financial group in general and within the Fund in particular. This role included significant exposure to La Trobe Financial's credit operations and decision making processes through the design and implementation of the company's Loan File audit procedures.

Richard spent four years as a Portfolio Manager from 2011 to 2015 taking responsibility for the full range of portfolio construction and management issues for the groups Credit Fund and Institutional facilities, including asset selection, funding allocation and risk management. He has acted as Secretary for the Group's peak Audit and Risk Committee (ARC), and Markets Funding & Rates Committees (MFR).

In 2016, Richard was appointed Head of Credit where he was responsible for the management and operations of the Commercial Credit team. In 2017, Richard joined the Risk & Corporate Governance Division as the Deputy Chief Risk Officer. He is Deputy Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) and a member of the Origination and Credit Committee (OCC).

Linda Gorski joined La Trobe Financial in November 2008 after many years experience working in the Institutional banking industry in both Residential and Commercial Lending.

Initially employed as a Credit Analyst within the Lending Department, she was then promoted to Manager of the Asset Retention Team.

In April 2016 Linda was further promoted to Head of Resi Origination. Linda has a strong desire to succeed and a passionate work ethic.

She holds a Diploma of Financial Services, Certificate IV in Financial/Mortgage Brokering and has extensive knowledge and experience of the financial legislation.

He joined La Trobe Financial with over 18 years’ experience within the finance sector, with nine years at the ANZ Bank and another nine spent in third party origination.

Mark holds a Diploma in Financial Services and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Financial Planning.

Leanne Seymour – Dip ML

Leanne Seymour has been with La Trobe Financial for over 11 years and in April 2016 was promoted from Manager of the Settlements Team to Executive General Manager – Head of Settlements.

She commenced her career in 2004 as an Administration Assistant in the Lending Department before taking the role as Acting Manager of the Settlement Department in 2006.

In late 2007 Leanne returned to the Lending department to assist the Closure Unit during a particularly busy period.

Having a flair for settlements Leanne remained with the Closure Unit until the end of 2008 when a new challenge presented itself joining the Discharge and Securities department.

In March 2009 Leanne moved to Melbourne and had the opportunity to transfer to our Head Office with a Loan Closure position created for her. Leanne has completed her Diploma of Mortgage Lending.

Leanne is the secretary of the Origination & Credit Committee (OCC).

Katherine Lewis-Bampton

Katherine Lewis-Bampton joined La Trobe Financial in June 2018. Katherine has over 18 years’ experience in the banking and finance industry with a major focus in retail and commercial.

Prior to joining La Trobe Financial, Katherine worked with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia as their Senior Operations Manager (Relationships Commercial and Retail). Katherine was also their Branch Manager for the Seaford and Docklands Branches. Previously, Katherine worked for the ANZ Bank as their Business Development Manager and obtained a number of promotions during her tenure with the Bank. Katherine brings a wealth of experience in multiple disciplines including credit operations, product and pricing management, marketing, risk control and sales.

As an Executive in Operations, Katherine champions clear differentiation in delivery and customer excellence through enhancing business efficiency, minimizing risk and proving high quality in service. Her client focus approach in advocating for client satisfaction and building long-term relationships has proven results in profitability and sustainable market growth.

Katherine is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Management having obtained qualifications in Financial Planning, Business and Administration.

Martin Barry joined La Trobe Financial in our Sydney Office in 2014 as Vice President, Head of Institutional Mandates and was recently appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Corporate Treasurer. He also heads up our Sydney Office.

Working in our Wealth Management & Custody Division, Martin holds a Physics degree from Imperial College London. He started his working life in London at PriceWaterhouseCoopers as a trainee actuary before moving to The Royal Bank of Scotland working in the global securitisation business. During his time with RBS Martin had overseas postings to Tokyo and Sydney. More recently Martin worked for Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi-UFJ based in Sydney.

Martin is the Chairman of the Markets, Funding & Rates Committee (MFR) and the Deputy Chair of the Remuneration & Finance Committee (RFC).

Chris joined La Trobe Financial in 2006 from Minter Ellison Lawyers, where he worked as a solicitor for six years with a broad focus on litigation and corporate advice work.

Chris was Senior Legal Counsel for the La Trobe Financial Group between 2006 and 2009. In 2009 he was appointed to Head of Funds Management for theLa Trobe Financial Group and was responsible for the La Trobe Financial Australian Mortgage Fund and was recently appointed as Chief Investment Officer.

Chris is a regular and sought-after commentator on economics, investment and finance with a particular focus on the senior property debt asset class. He has also conducted numerous presentations on property debt and has written articles in various publications including Asian Banking and Finance and Money Matters.

Chris holds degrees in Law (Honours) and Commerce. He is the Deputy Chairman of La Trobe Financial's Markets, Funding & Rates (MFR).

Cheree Pedley – Dip FS

Cheree Pedley commenced her career with La Trobe Financial in December 2003. For the past 10 years, Cheree has been responsible for the management of the Investor Administration and Investor Liaison teams that manage Australia’s multi-award winning $2 billion Credit Fund.

In 2008, Cheree was appointed to the role of Fund Operations Manager and has become an integral part of the Credit Fund’s growth.

In October 2014, Cheree was promoted to Executive General Manager - Head of Investor Operations.

Cheree’s leadership skills have played a pivotal role in the development of the Credit Fund. Her passion for process improvement, and the desire to continually drive innovation and automation in the Wealth Management Division of La Trobe Financial have been her greatest strengths.

Before joining La Trobe Financial, Cheree worked with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in 1987, before moving to the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) in 1990 where she held a number of supervisory roles for over 13 years.

Due to Cheree’s depth of experience, she is well equipped to oversee and maintain the integrity of La Trobe Financial's investment operations.

Cheree is a 2012 Hall of Fame winner, the Company’s Superior Customer Services Award, as voted by her peers.

Jacki Jennings

Jacki has been with La Trobe Financial since April 1985. Her wealth of experience has included working stints in Lending-approving and settling loans for borrowers; Financial Control-reconciling banks accounts and preparation of financial statements and; Funds Management-liaising with Investors and allocating Investor Funds to La Trobe Financial’s privately funded loans.

Jacki was promoted to La Trobe Financial Customer Service Manager in July 2009. This role involved overseeing staff, borrower repayment control, discharge of mortgages and property and contents insurance management..

In April 2015, Jacki was promoted to Executive General Manager - Head of Custody. Her role currently involves the management of thirteen (13) staff at our National Custody Centre, Traralgon Office. encompassing all Customer and Call Centre functions and maintaining La Trobe Financial’s high standard of quality service.

Jacki has enjoyed thirty (30) years of service with La Trobe Financial and is another one of our professional female executives.

Jacki is also a member of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC).

Michael Watson – MBA, BBus

Michael Watson is the Head of Major Clients in the Wealth Management & Custody Team and based in Melbourne. Michael joined La Trobe Financial in May 2013 as the National Manager, Senior Manager Client Partnerships.

In his role, Michael manages the relationship between financial advisers and dealer groups across Australia, working on strategies to grow their business. With a strong interest in product distribution, Michael is a keen observer of current trends, practices and delivery methods relating to financial products. Prior to joining La Trobe Financial Michael worked extensively within the specialist lending market and business banking. Michael has completed a Bachelor of Business (Economics & Marketing), an MBA (Project Management), a Certificate IV in Financial Services and is PS146 (tier 2) compliant.

Bev Christou joined La Trobe Financial as the Assistant Manager of the Settlements Department in June 2001. Bev came to us with 20 years finance experience and knowledge.

Her previous roles as Bank Branch Manager and Personal Banking Manager included underwriting and settling personal, home and commercial loans in addition to managing branch staff, targets and budgets.

Bev was promoted to La Trobe Financial's Settlements Manager in December 2001. She progressed through the Lending Department as Manager overseeing staff, processes, underwriting and settlements of loans.

In February 2011, Bev was promoted to the Executive Head of Custody Operations where she oversees the Discharge, Securities, Customer Service and Records Management departments and is heavily involved with La Trobe Financial's Human Resource requirements.

Bev has a Diploma in Mortgage Finance and with her interpersonal and customer focus skills is an important new member of our Executive team.

Caterina Nesci is the Head of Marketing based in Melbourne and commenced her career with La Trobe Financial in June 2010. As Head of Communications & PR, Caterina assists across multi channels internally and externally. With a strong international background, Caterina covers various aspects of public relations and media from both a strategic and implementation perspective.

Caterina formerly worked for Hogan Lovells, one of the largest full-service global law firms, as the Client Relationship Consultant and was based in Hong Kong. Caterina was responsible for managing some of the firm’s major clients on an Asia basis and 3 major clients globally. Caterina has extensive business development experience and knowledge working with Chinese clients, having previously managed the China Practice for the principal partner for over 10 years at one of Australia’s leading law firms, Norton Rose Fulbright (previously known as Deacons).

Caterina also speaks intermediate Mandarin and is fluent in Italian. Caterina holds a Bachelor in Business and is the 2014 winner of the MAX Award (Marketing, Advertising & Sales Excellence Awards) for Australia’s Marketer of the Year (Investment Management) and a 2014 Finalist Marketing & Communications Manager of the Year (Women in Financial Services).

Rob is a Chartered Accountant who was employed as La Trobe Financial’s Chief Financial Officer in March 2008. He previously worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers and its predecessor Coopers & Lybrand ("C&L") for over 20 years.

He previously worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers and its predecessor Coopers & Lybrand ("C&L") for over 20 years where he managed the audits of a number of major corporations including AAMI, RACV, Cricket Australia and Australian Foundation Investment Company ("AFIC").

From 1995 to 1997 Rob was seconded to C&L's Copenhagen office. He holds both a Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne.

As the former audit director responsible for La Trobe Financial from 2004 to 2006, Rob already has a strong understanding of La Trobe's operations. In addition to his understanding of systems and processes of a variety of financial services organisations, Rob's audit experience has included due diligences for acquisitions, assessments of potential agency representatives and the preparation of submissions to regulators, which are of value in his role of CFO of La Trobe Financial.

As well as his significant audit experience, for a two year period Rob was the Group Manager for PwC's Melbourne Financial Services audit practice. These general management skills are supplemented by Rob's strong technical skills which were utilised as the editor for several years of PwC's Insurance Facts & Figures and Value Accounts Insurance publications and his role of AIFRS transition "champion" for PwC's Melbourne Financial Services audit practice.

Mr Clough is Chairman of the Remuneration & Finance Committee (RFC) and a member of the Markets, Funding & Rates Committee (MFR).

Cameron Walker was employed as La Trobe Financial’s Group Financial Controller in September 2011. His 18 years of practical experience includes 10 years within the Chartered Accounting Profession with a further 8 years within the financial services industry.

Cameron Walker is a Chartered Accountant who was employed as La Trobe Financial's Group Financial Controller in September 2011. His 18 years of practical experience includes 10 years within the Chartered Accounting Profession with a further 8 years within the financial services industry.

He holds both a Bachelor of Business (Majoring in Accounting and Organisational Behaviour) from Swinburne University and Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from Financial Services Industry of Australasia (FINSIA). As an audit engagement manager he managed the audits and advised upon the internal operational procedures for a number of major corporations. During 2000 Cameron was seconded to BDO Seidmans' Los Angeles office. For a period of over 5 years Cameron was employed by wealth manager IOOF Holdings Ltd, a top 150 ASX listed entity. As Head of Statutory Reporting he was engaged to provide sound technical advice. He was instrumental with the due diligence, integration of acquired entities and centralisation of key corporate functions.

Robyn joined La Trobe Financial in April 1985. Her wealth of experience stems from working in various roles including Lending - approving and settling loans for borrowers; Financial Control - reconciling bank accounts and preparing financial statements, Funds Management - liaising with investors and allocating investor funds and Internal Audit - reviewing internal processes and Personal Assistant to our COO.

Robyn’s commitment, loyalty and dedication towards La Trobe Financial is invaluable and in 1996, Robyn was awarded the company’s Hall of Fame Award in recognition of exemplary service, an award voted by her peers. In 2010, Robyn was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal (DSM). The DSM is the company’s highest level of individual recognition.

In August 2014, Robyn was promoted to her current position of Head of Business Analysis within our IT Division. Her current role involves the management of enhancements for the various technology platforms across the company.

Grant Earney

Grant Earney joined La Trobe Financial in May 2018 as Head of Acquisitions and Integration. Grant has over 25 years of experience in financial management and business planning in financial services, banking and funds management.

Previously, Grant held executive positions at financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, ANZ, ME Bank, Quintessential Equity and BankVic. He started his career with Deloitte. Career highlights include working on a number of large corporate transactions such as the merger of Goldman Sachs and JBWere and the management of business change projects which have enhanced the quality of financial reporting including establishing a product control function, project management office disciplines, business intelligence and expense management tools and processes. In addition, Grant has played a key role in management of business issues such as research and development tax concessions and management of funding and treasury operations.

Grant is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

John Siarabalos
Taxation Manager

John Siarabalos began his career with La Trobe Financial in April 2018 as the Taxation & Regulatory Reporting Manager. John is a tax specialist with extensive experience across retail, health, insurance, aged care, superannuation and property.

Career highlights include the leadership of a corporate merger of three health funds to a single fund and the integration of each of the separate companies into mainstream processes including various trusts and considering the tax implications of each company. In addition, John has played a pivotal role in setting up tax functions, managing group tax risk and executing through to implementation.

Prior to joining La Trobe Financial, John was Group Taxation Manager for Bupa, the largest health insurer in Australia with a turnover of $5 billion pa. and prior to that as the Group Taxation Manager for Myer Pty Ltd. Both were owned by private equity, and he enjoyed the challenge of dealing with businesses that were establishing and expanding. Aaron Walshe
Head of Fund Finance

Aaron Walshe commenced with La Trobe Financial in May 2006 as a graduate accountant. In 2010, he was appointed to Senior Accountant and obtained his CPA qualifications in 2011. In 2013, Aaron transferred to a Business Analyst role to expand his knowledge and gain further experience with the company.

Aaron showed natural leadership qualities and was appointed to lead the company’s major acquisitions. He was responsible for the integration and the data management. These major projects were quite lengthy, but Aaron’s due diligence expertise with the management of the acquisition process showed him to be an integral team member. His senior managers recognised quickly Aaron’s commitment to achieve in every project bestowed to him, and was appointed Commercial Manager in the Asset Management Team in 2014.

As Aaron progressed with his career at La Trobe Financial, he was approached by the Financial Control Department and was appointed Fund Accounting Manager. Two years later he was promoted to Executive General Manager – Head of Fund Finance

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University majoring in Accounting.

Sandy Singh

Sandy Singh joined La Trobe Financial in March 2011 as an Accountant. In 2013, Sandy was appointed to Senior Accountant.

Sandy showed strong ambition and was recognised as an up and coming leader, and so, in 2015, Sandy was nominated to be part of the company’s first Leadership Program. With a strong desire to lead, Sandy became an integral member of the Company’s very first RMBS issuance. He was responsible for the implementation of the RBA reporting project and one of our key members for the implementation of the Company’s RMBS program which was launched in 2014. In 2015, Sandy completed his CPA.

In June 2018, Sandy was promoted to Executive General Manager - Head of INSTO Finance.

Sandy holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and is a qualified CPA.

Rowan Donohoue joined La Trobe Financial in 2009 as the Chief Legal Counsel for the La Trobe Financial group and in June 2017 was appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Prior to La Trobe Financial, Rowan worked at Clayton Utz lawyers as a solicitor for 5 years with a focus on Commercial Litigation and corporate matters. Preceding to joining Clayton Utz, Rowan worked at a mid-tier commercial law firm in Adelaide, South Australia and also spent time in Hanoi, Vietnam working for the Vietnamese government’s Institute for International Relations (IIR). Rowan is Secretary of the Remuneration & Finance Committee (“RFC) and a member of the Origination & Credit Committee (OCC).

Rowan holds degrees in Law (Honours) and Arts (Politics) from Flinders University, and is admitted as a solicitor in the High Court of Australia, and the Supreme Courts of Victoria and South Australia

Shaun Wright joined La Trobe Financial in May 2007 as Commercial Manager in the Asset Management Team, with responsibility for managing the Early Arrears accounts, and the Collections strategies and processes.

Shaun came to La Trobe Financial after 21 years with the National Australia Bank, holding a number of Management positions within the National Australia Bank's Consumer Collections Division both in Australia and its UK based Banking Operations. During his time with NAB Shaun gained experience in Collections Strategy Management, Behavioural Scoring, Litigation, Agency Management, Telephone Collections, Collections Systems, Business Risk, Business Analysis and Project Management.

Shaun is a member of the Origination & Credit (OCC).

Chris Paton

Chris joined La Trobe Financial in July 2017 as Senior Legal Counsel for the La Trobe Financial group. In June 2018, Chris was appointed Chief Legal Counsel.

Prior to joining La Trobe Financial, Chris worked at Piper Alderman lawyers as a Senior Associate for eight years. He specialised in the banking and finance sector, having acted for and advised a number of leading banks and lending institutions in the areas of compliance and litigation, while also working across the restructuring and insolvency industries.

Chris is Company Secretary of the La Trobe Financial group entities, the Secretary of the Executive Committee and a member of the Audit & Risk Committee.

Chris has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Distinction) from Deakin University. He is admitted as a solicitor in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
